Black Mast launches three new Drag Queen-themed shirts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New merchandise marks the company’s fifth anniversary

SAN FRANCISCO, CA,  APRIL 30, 2018: Today, Brandon Redenius and Marie Agata of Black Mast released three new t-shirt designs on their website and Etsy store. This launch coincides with their five-year anniversary as a company, and the merchandise will make its public debut at RuPaul’s DragCon LA 2018 (Black Mast Booth #1261).

The release celebrates the duo’s love of drag on the local and national scale, and they hope drag queens and drag fans alike enjoy the colorful shirts. Of the new shirts, Black Mast co-owner and designer Brandon said “I’ve always drawn inspiration for my work from other art forms, such as drag performance, music, and movies. Attending two to five drag shows a week meant the ideas for these shirts came pretty naturally.”

The first tee, titled “I Tip Queens,” is for those who avidly support the art of drag with their dollars, and to encourage others to tip the performers! The second tee, “Words with Queens,” takes the popular lingo used in the LGBTQ and Drag communities and gives them a pop art and comic-styled edge. The third tee, “Tools of the Trade,” is an tongue-in-cheek artistic representation of de-dragging, and finding the beauty in the messy aftermath of the glitz and glam. The promotional photos feature local queens Amanda Bang, Creme Fatale, and Andrew Ellenberg-Wiley (aka Vanity A. Fair).

Black Mast also released the “I Tip Queens” Enamel Pin, cast in black nickel with black, teal, and pink glitter enamels. It’s their first hard enamel pin, a companion to the I Tip Queens T-Shirt.

All three new shirts and the enamel pin will make their public debut at RuPaul’s DragCon LA 2018. This is the third consecutive year Black Mast has exhibited, bringing with them the new merchandise as well as fan favorite “Drag Hag” and “Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent” t-shirts and tank tops. Find them at booth #1261, where you can meet Amanda Bang, Creme Fatale, and Heklina!
